It should look like the first example below - replace it with the second example:
#Zoom usb modem windows 10 driver installation failure driver#
In notepad or other text editor, make the following changes:Ī) Modify the line containing the version number (not strictly necessary but it will help you to verify that the driver has been updated later)
Locate the driver file /Program Files/Zoom/XP/cxt10b4k.inf. To enable Caller ID (UK BT standard) do the folllowingġ. This driver modification works for the Zoom PCI modem (p/n CF) and the fix may be good for other modems that see the Caller ID in Winterm mode but not in TAPI enabled apps like MCE, YAC and TapiRex If any one is reading this and DOES have a working caller ID 3025C that shows all the callers details in any add on progy, i would dearly love a copy of there inf fileĪnd as for getting the changed inf to become added to the registery instead of re-installing, right click the file in question and at the top of the pop up window you should be able to see install, select that and that should write the file to the registry for youĮnabling UK (BT) Caller ID for ZOOM PCI MODEM I have tried, YAC, Tapi-rex, talking caller ID, phone bot and others but non show any details of who is calling with the zoom 3025C, even after the usual AT commands have been sent to the modem to start CID why produce a modem that has caller ID that can be used in Hyper terminal only Infact in my experience no caller id programs work with it at all, which then brings the question. it is infact IS-101 which is slightly different and although some TAPI commands work with it. I e-mailed zoom with a history of what i had tried and a breakdown of all my problems and they sent a mail back saying that infact the zoom 3025C actually isnt TAPI compliant.

I have the same modem with exact same probs, but have had no luck in getting it to work with any tapi software add ons at all This means that TAPI is now being sent the correct details. This means that 'TYPE' it is interpreted as the name - ok for now. Since I'm not exactly sure what 'TYPE' means, I modified it to:
#Zoom usb modem windows 10 driver installation failure update#
Is that not accurate? Is there any way that there is an update or some other setting that will make a 3.0 port run with a 2.I've managed to track this problem down to a mismatch between the INF file and what is reported by the modem driver.īut the INF file does not detail the TYPE field (not sure what this is - Caller Id type?): I thought that all 3.0 USB ports were backwards compatible with 2.0 and even 1.1. It would not send emails out through the 3.0 ports on these machines. I tried it on 2 other machines (also set up for Windows 10), and was able to send emails out - intermittently - on 2 of my 3 dialup accounts through USB 2.0 ports. I have only 3.0 USB ports on my new computer. I ran the troubleshooter, and the troubleshooter said that this was an older device and won't work on a USB 3.0. He said that the problem was due to my dialup provider, and that I should call them.
I couldn't send an email from the dialup account, although I can I was then able to dial into one of my dialup providers, and eventually able to access the internet, slowly, but that's what you expect with dialup. I called the US Robotics tech support (overseas person - very difficult to understand), and after various tests, we were able I received the US Robotics modem and had trouble with it right away, even after uploading the latest driver and firmware upgrade.
